Has anyone else been dreaming of being able to go to the airport and board a plane to a dream destination? I know, I have! Below I thought I would share with you and the reasons why I want to visit these places.  Some of the places are just incredible and I hope one day I will be able to tick them off my bucket list.

Italy - For the food

My husband and I were meant to have a long weekend in Rome in June, for his birthday, but unfortunately due to the coronavirus that has been rescheduled for next year, so fingers crossed we will be able to visit and explore the city for the weekend. The top places that I want to visit is:

  1.  Colosseum
  2. St Peter's Square
  3. Trevi Fountain
  4. Vatican City

My husband and I are big Italian food lovers so I can't wait to eat all the pizza, pasta and gelato I can manage!

Another place I want to visit in Italy is Lake Garda, my husband and I have both had friends who have visited there and have posted pictures on social media and have said that they have had an amazing time. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy and the views and the mountains there look incredible. Seeing as my husband and I love exploring the outdoors and walking,  Lake Garda is totally on our list!

South Africa - For Table Mountain and Safari:

I have seen so many pictures of Table Mountain and it looks incredible as well as Table Mountain, one of my big thing on my bucket list is to go on a safari. I would love to see all the African Animals.  I also hear that Cape Point and the views are incredible and I may get to see some penguins. So that is why I want to go and visit, South Africa.

Vienna - For the Christmas Market:

What can be more magical than a Christmas Market in the run-up to Christmas? I visited some Christmas Markets in the UK when I was younger so I know that magical feeling of a Christmas Market. My husband and I were planning on visiting a Christmas Market this year, but for now, that plan has been put on hold due to the coronavirus and the uncertainty of what travel will look like and when the world we open up again. But the one in Vienna is meant to be amazing and is well known for the pre-Christmas atmosphere, I can't wait for a long weekend city break here and all the Christmassy smells that come with it

Malta - For the Culture:

Malta has 300 days of sunshine a year, so clearly a year-round destination that I would love to go and visit not only for the climate but for the culture and architecture that Malta has the photos will be incredible, apparently, they also do good food, so it is great for my husband and I who are both foodies. The Capital, Valletta looks amazingly beautiful with the harbour. Equally, Malta's Sister Island also looks incredible to visit and access by a 20-minute ferry ride. The Upper Barrakka Gardens in Valletta just looks amazing and the photos from that will look incredible. By walking around and exploring I am sure that we will be able to find many more amazing gems that Malta has to offer.

Barcelona - For the City Views and Churros:

There is something about European Cities that I love, I'm not sure if it is that you can easily escape and go for a long weekend or that the architecture and culture is better than in England. But Barcelona has been on my bucket list for a while, I'm not sure if it's because of the Spanish food that I have grown to love Tapas and Churros are just incredible. It is my ideal meal having loads of different things to pick from and enjoy. It also helps if you struggle to decide what you want in restaurants. Some of the must-see places for me on a trip to Barcelona would be Barri Gotic, Las Ramblas and Garcia.  By just exploring the city I am sure you would come across some more gems to explore.

Boston - For the City Views:

I love American cities, I love America, I've explored a fair bit of America, by doing cross country tours with Trek America and spending to summer at a camp in Virginia, I think that is where my love for America start and the fact that most of the films I watch are set in America. But I haven't been to Boston, and that is next on my list. I would love to visit Fenway Park (I love the atmosphere of a baseball game, not that I understand much about it) but I would also love to experience an ice hockey game too, Boston Common and Freedom Trail. There is also a chance to do a day trip along the New England Coast and visit New Hampshire and Maine (which is also a state that I would love to visit)

Canada - For the National Parks:

I've been to Canada before and instantly fell in love with the country. I went to Canada on a tour with Trek America and it was incredible. We started in Vancouver and finished in Newark,  New Jersey, and visited many cities, towns and National Parks along the way. The National Parks where my favourite places we went on the trip as well as hiking up the Athabasca Glacier. However, I feel like I didn't explore as much as the National Parks as I would like to have done. This was due to being on a timetable and only have a set time in each place. But I would love to go back and show my husband how amazing some of Canada's National Parks are, as well as have some poutine and see a bear or two. I also collected some patches from when I went to Canada and put them on to a Canadain Flag so it would be great to add to them too.

Hawaii - For the Beaches and the Views:

The beaches look incredible and so do the views. The idea of relaxing on a beach with a good book also appeals. Also I would love to visit the Volcanos National Park as that also looks incredible. It is also another American State to tick off!

Croatia - For the Views and National Parks:

My husband and I visited Croatia together in 2018 and we both fell in love with the country. We stay in a small town called Omis which is not far from Split, which is Croatia second-largest city. We both said that we would love to go back and visit what we missed like some of the National Parks, Plitvice Lake National Park and Mjet National Park.  As well as revisit Omis which is just incredible in so many ways, the scenery and views that you get from the town is just amazing!

Switzerland - For the Views and Chocolate:

Who doesn't like chocolate? Swiss Chocolate is amazing and you can't go wrong with Lindt Chocolate, it is one of my favourites. But other than that Switzerland just looks incredible. I have been before when I was in the Guides. We stayed at Our Chalet in Adelboden, from what I remember it was a great experience, but I would love to explore more of the country with my husband as well as eat all the Swiss Chocolate we can!
