In the summer of 2018, my husband (boyfriend at the time) and I went to Croatia. We flew into Split and stayed in a town about 25km along the coast from Split called Omis. Here are a few of our recommendations if you are ever in the area or happen to go to Croatia.

Our Hotel: Hotel Villa Dvor:

The location of this was fantastic on a cliff edge, where the lift up to reception took you through a cliff.  It wasn’t right in the centre of the town but just a short walk away.

Starigrad Fortress:

Fantastic views of the town can be seen. It costs to get into the fortress, but it is totally worth it for the views. The path was a little dangerous so I would recommend wearing trainers or other suitable footwear and take water with you.

Fortress Mirabella (Peovica):

We could see this fortress from our hotel, it was easy to find from the town and offered more great views of the town and the surrounding areas.

Krka National Park:

This is one of many national parks in Croatia, it is known for a series of 7 waterfalls. It was established in 1985. You can swim right near a waterfall which is perfect for a hot day!

We loved the food and places we found to have our evening meals. We asked our hotel for any recommendations and we went to some of them. Some places we ate at and would recommend.

La Fabbrica Pizza & Bar:

We ate here on our first and our last night, that is because the food was incredible, we ordered the same thing both times, purely due to the fact that we loved our time there, we were well looked after and enjoyed our time there. Both times, we order the same, which was essentially a plate full of meat, roasted vegetables and chips. It was incredible and the meat was cooked to our liking. Totally would recommend this place!

Cocopazzo Wine & Dine Restaurant:

We were recommended this restaurant, along with the other restaurants by our hotel. We went here one night and enjoyed some amazing burgers. Its location is in the middle of the town down the narrow streets, which created a wonderful atmosphere.

Pizzeria Antula:

Who doesn’t love pizza?! Every time we walked passed this restaurant it was always busy, (which is a good sign, right) The staff was warm and welcoming and the pizza was delicious, cooked fresh and served quickly to our table.

Nina-ice:

Who doesn’t love ice cream? Especially when it’s ice cream rolls. You got to choose what to have in it and it was made right in front of you.
